Nestled along the Couze Chambon river, a tributary of the Allier, Champeix sits at a strategic crossroads between southern Limagnes, Clermont-Ferrand, Issoire, and the Monts Dore. Historically, this location has supported its growth through vibrant markets where both mountain and lowland goods were traded.
